The 'Academy' is a local organisation sponsored by the Star Gods governor. They are charged with exploring the ever-shifting wasteland that is Earth and researching new forms of mutated life. In practice, they scout mutant communities and indirectly help the government in efficiently policing them. Most of them use standard human equipment and can be easily looted, but Academy is perfectly able to put its vast resources to work and deploy high-tech guns and robotic weapons.
